Fundraising and Donations

We started actively fundraising. In Memory of Stephanie, in May 2019, to remember Stephanie's 22nd birthday. Our aim has been to annually, through public, private and personal donations, donate between £ 5,000 and £ 10,000 to help support research, education and other projects aimed at improving the care of young people with or at risk of mental health problems. In July 2024 we became a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) known as the In Memory of Stephanie Charitable Trust.

We are very grateful to all those who have participated in fundraising events, supported our fundraising efforts and/or made a donation. We welcome help in any way you can.

Stephanie's 17th Birthday

May 30th, 2026

We finalised our 2025-26 fundraising with Team Stephanie (Sophie and Dan Hurst, and Doug) competing, desptie the cold and wet conditions, the Brighton Half Marathon. Your generous support of their efforts helped us to support the work of two charities:

Olly's Future, and of note, their TAS10 training and Dr SAMS programme for first year medical students.

Making Families Count, who aim to improve healthcare through family engagement.

Over the past year, In Memory of Stephanie, we have donated a total of £ 8,400. Thanks to all our fundraisers and their supporters for helping to make this possible.

Last week would have been Stephanie's 29th birthday and we kick off this year's fundraising with Team Stephanie participating , for the 3rd year running, in the Royal Sutton FunRun tomorrow. If you have time to come along and support, the race starts at 11am.

Lauren and Doug had a pleasant surprise when they completed the Vancouver Triathlon last September ... Doug's neice Stephenie and her family (Wes, Lily and Piper) were there to greet them. That was our last fundraising activity of 2025 and we are pleased to report that with your support we have since April donated £ 5,675, In Memory of Stephanie, to help support the work of the following charities.

Cameron Grant Memorial Trust

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)

Molly Rose Foundation

To start our 2026 fundraising Doug will be joining Sophie and Dam Hurst on Sunday, March 1st, as Team Stephanie takes on the Brighton Half Marathon.

We'd like to thank again Team Stephanie for participating in the Royal Sutton FunRun last May. You efforts and supoporters helped raise ~£ 2,500, all of which goes to help support charities / organisations to help reduce the incidence of self-harm and suicide in young people.

Lauren, ran, and Nim, Nordic walked, the 8.5 mile Great Midland Fun Run around Sutton Coldfield and Sutton Park today. Neither Cardiac Hill nor the weather could prevent them from completing the course in memory of Stephanie.

Lauren completed the Great Manchester Half Marathon today in 1:51:52, a fantastic time considering this is the first time she's ran this distance.
